Since mid-19th century, Asian and Pacific Islander American literature has been an important part of American literature. Asian American writers create numerous works with the pens in their hands to let their voices be heard by the majorities. Many of them have achieved great success and gained recognition in the American society. This list honors the 15 greatest A/PIA writers of all time and shows personal respect to what they have done for the society.
project description
My project is making a list of
Top 15 A/PIA writers. I picked 15 A/PIA writers who I believe have big influence on literary area and are widely recognized by their achievement. For each writer, I
make brief introduction, list their selected works, the awards they win and evaluate their influence in their areas. I learn from the project that it is never easy to make such a list and exclude others from it. Thanks to the project, I gain more knowledge about the A/PIA literature and realize their efforts made to eliminate stereotypes, misunderstanding as well as other social issues A/PIA faced in American.
